These are my all time favorite sheets, hands down. I love them SO MUCH.TL;DR: amazing soft and crisp cotton sheets that get better and better with every wash, incredible choice of colors, well worth the price tag. Now, these are cotton sheets, which means they will not always be wrinkle free. I don't care about that, because comfort is my top priority. And boy are these comfortable!!!! These are the perfect mix between soft and crisp in my opinion. A little bit about me: I have very specific touch sensory issues with sheets. For example, I HATE silk sheets, I think they feel weird. Same with microfiber sheets. They are super durable. I bought one set in April (it's currently near the end of September) and they have just gotten better and better. There has been no pilling either! I wash the pillow cases every week, and the sheets themselves every other week. I would wash them every week but coin laundry in my apartment is expensive lol.I bought the lavender gray color originally and it's gorgeous. My camera doesn't pick the color well :( but trust me, gorgeous! This review is for the sage green color, which I bought specifically for this new bedspread (made by Cathrin Machin btw). Please ignore the slightly wrinkled pillowcases, they sat in my laundry basket for a day. This color is also gorgeous! Now, I was originally hesitant to buy (what I consider to be) expensive sheets. It's been a weird transition with my first big girl job and actually having money to spend on quality things but it hasn't quite sunk in yet, but believe me they are so worth it, whether I was still in retail or making a nice amount of money. If you're still hesitant, put them in your saved for later and wait for the price to drop! Set up a price alert through a service like Honey.Just one wash truly does unlock the softness of them (as well as get rid of that manufacturer smell that comes with everything new), and every wash after that makes them softer. I love it because it makes me want to keep them forever! Why would I buy something new (except for aesthetics lol) when these sheets will keep getting better? Do not be afraid to try an interesting color! All clothes have dye in them and you wear those 24/7, why would you care about undyed sheets on your skin??Lastly, California design den claims that microfiber sheets contribute to microplastic pollution in our waterways. According to a 2017 study, nearly 35% of microplastic pollution is due to synthetic textiles (ISBN 978-2-8317-1827-9)!!!!! Nothing is indestructible in the wash. If you're concerned about microplastic pollution, please consider purchasing these cotton sheets instead of microfiber. If you really cannot afford cotton textile sheets, please do what makes sense for you. But these are a great option that aren't THAT much more expensive than microfiber sheets.I just got these in the mail, and I wanted to review my initial reaction to these sheets. This is a long review, but I feel it necessary, so grab a snack and let's go! Pictures are attached for your viewing pleasure!I went back and forth for over an hour, reading reviews and trying to decide if I wanted to give these sheets a shot or not. I almost didn't buy them 1. Because of all the terrible reviews, and 2. Because of the price. $35 for a 100% cotton sheets would make anyone that knows sheets question why. When companies are advertising their 100% cotton sheets for $300 a set, you tend to be skeptical at the $30-$50 price point. Now I'm sure those $300 sheets are amazing, but crap that's a lot of money for sheets! Plus I feel a lot of the time you're paying more for the name, than the product itself. But, the reviews on this product held the most weight in my indecisiveness. Most of the bad reviews I read were from years ago (2016), so I weeded through them until I found more recent reviews (2019). The most recent reviews were promising, they were definitely better than the older ones.About the sheets themselves... When I opened the shipping box I was pleasantly surprised by the packaging. They are protected and secured in a brightly colored cardboard box, with all the company's certifications clearly stated. The sheets themselves are neatly wrapped in tissue paper. I opened the tissue paper, and immediately felt the sheets. Many reviews I read stated they felt as if they were sleeping on sandpaper. I tend to take those reviews with a grain of salt because microfiber is super soft, and it dominates in the sheets/textiles industry now. We have been conditioned to like it. My issues with microfiber sheets are: they tend not to last very long, they stain easily, they don't breathe pwell, and my biggest issue... they're made of synthetic materials like plastic and/or wood pulp. Straight face emoji. Microfiber is soft, more like a suede, it's lightweight, doesn't wrinkle or shrink, and it's reasonably priced. Awesome! All my sheets up until this point have been microfiber. Cotton on the other hand is more crisp, it breathes, stands the test of time and use, and its all natural (great for those with allergies). Cotton sheets crinkle. You can audibly hear the difference between it and microfiber. We always had cotton sheets growing up, and I missed the crisp, cool feel when I'd slip into bed. Though they aren't as "soft" as microfiber, they absolutely do not feel like sandpaper. My husband actually thought they were a little rough as well, but again, he's been sleeping on microfiber his entire adult life. #conditioned. Where I think these sheets were very soft right out of the box, hubby thought they weren't, as others will too. "Soft" is a perception. Everyone has a different definition of what soft is. So I try to be objective about it when making a decision based on reviews. Imo cotton evolves. Think of it like a 100% cotton tshirt. It's stiff and rough when it's brand new, but gets better and softer as it's worn and washed. Cotton also requires more care than other materials. Cotton wrinkles easily, just like a tshirt, and it requires more care than synthetic materials. As long as you follow the care instructions though, they should soften, and hold up well. When it comes to breathing... microfiber does not in my experience. Even though it is moisture wicking, it seems to trap body heat. My husband is an extremely hot sleeper. He runs hot in general. He'll hang one of his feet off the bed while sleeping to help regulate his body temperature because he overheats in the microfiber sheets. Cotton will help in this aspect. On we go...After feeling the sheets, I then inspected the hems. There were a few reviews saying the sewing was terrible, and they had several loose threads. All edges are hemmed very well, and there's not one loose thread. Not one, and I looked. The sewing is uniform throughout the sheets and pillow cases. The elastic in the fitted sheet is thick, and the tags inside telling you direction is incredibly helpful. I am thoroughly impressed with these sheets so far. They're 100% cotton sheets for a very reasonable price. I'm going to throw them in the washer right now (hello gentle cycle that I only use for my unmentionables), and we'll see how they hold up over time. Even if they don't last that long, at this price, it's not that big of a deal. I ordered white in queen size. For those thinking about buying color and the reviews pertaining to color, here's what I'm thinking... these may not be color fast, as is the case with other things 100% cotton. For those reviews about spots on their white sheets, honestly those could be burn spots from the dryer. You can burn cotton with your dryer. Who knew and has totally done that? Hi, me! If you're not wanting to put a lot of time into your sheets, then microfiber will be your best bet. But I encourage everyone to give cotton a try. Cotton was the industry standard years ago, but we've moved away from that in favor of synthetic materials. Try to stay open minded about it, and remember we're human. We can adapt to anything! What's rough to you today, won't necessarily be rough to you in the future ? Happy Z's Y'all! The product is exactly as described, and arrived in the time stated.I've bought dozens of products on Amazon and have never had an issue until now. How can this product have so many positive reviews? Once was decent quality but now they've switched fabrics? I just learned the hard way that 400 thread count doesn't really matter -- you can still end up with sheets that feel like sandpaper with fabric is so thin you can see through it. They seem to know their fabric is uncomfortable and rough. The inside packaging says "wash before use to unlock softness". Well guess what? Washing makes no difference at all. Very disappointed. After purchasing a new split king adjustable bed from Amazon we needed new sheets, and these seem to fit the bill perfectly. When we initially received the sheets, we thought they were quite thin but used them anyway. For the first 3 months we were satisfied until we noticed the material on one fitted sheet was beginning to tear in the centre of the sheet. The material was just coming apart. As it was too late to return the product, we had a seamstress attempt repair. The sheet just started to part or tear in a different location. Examining the second set we purchased we found that the material was showing signs of stress and most likely will fail soon.We found the durability of this product to be deficient. Especially knowing we have sheets that have been in constant use for 20 plus years and still look new.We purchase, at least for us, a high volume of goods from Amazon and for the most part have been very satisfied with our purchases. I don’t believe we have ever written a negative review and view many of them with some scepticism. However as we have no means of contacting the seller or manufacturer directly our only recourse was to try and help others from making the same mistake of purchasing this product.I am so very happy with these sheets! The price is right, the color is beautiful and true to the description, the textile is certified Oeko-tex which is always good, and they’re 100% cotton, NOT microfiber (which I can’t stand because I overheat.)I washed them and after a long washing then drying cycle, they’re just slightlywrinkled, which I don’t mind. They also fit very well over my 12 in. foam mattress and I did not have to fight with it to fit it on the corners.I am buying a second set right now. While much better than dust-attracting, chintzy microfiber sheets and a fair deal for the money, these sheets are hardly top quality, lacking the cool crispness of Percale and other top cotton sets. However, washing these sheets in baking soda with white vinegar in the rinse cycle and drying in low heat or air drying smooths out the sheets after repeated washings. Treating these with care will yield good results.I just received these yesterday. I washed them and after taking them out of the dryer I was so impressed with the feel and quality.I made my bed and being that it was a warm night it provided the opportunity to test them to see if I would feel too warm. It was a cool comfortable experience and had a perfect sleep in my new sheets! Thanks for this great product!Update: another customer said there was a discrepancy of where the sheets were made, India or China. According to the picture above they’re made in India. If it says China on the box, perhaps that’s where they were packaged.
